Features Tour of New Demo Center
Bourn & Koch will host an open house Friday and Saturday, September 12 and 13 from 10 am until 4 pm during IMTS 2008 in Chicago. A tour of the new 27,700 square foot engineering center and office building and the new 800 square foot demonstration center at its Kishwaukee Street site in Rockford, IL. Food and refreshments will be served.

STAR PTG-1 HOB AND SHAPER CUTTER SHARPENING CENTER SHARPENS SYKES HERRINGBONE CUTTERS
Star Cutter's Model PTG-1 installed machines are proving their versatilty. Customers using Sykes style herringbone cutters are not only sharpening the cutting face, but the relief groove as well.
The PTG-1 is a 5-axis grinding machine featuring: NUM Axium CNC control, NUMROTOplus software, integrated automatic part probing, automatic wheel probing, as well as on board wheel dressing. The PTG-1 sharpens straight and spiral gash hobs, through-hole and shank type, up to 8" in diameter and 10" in length. The resharpening quality meets the AGMA "AAA" standards, with unsurpassed surface finish through the use of super abrasives.
Star equips the PTG-1 with HSK "Quick Change" modular tooling, provides the opportunity to resharpen, dish and helical shaper cutters in either through-hole or shank type configurations. The PTG-1 capabilities are further expandable to form relief cutters, end mills, drills, and step drills. Manual HSK wheel adaptors allow grinding wheel exchanges in just seconds.

Bourn & Koch will exhibit its Fellows MS450-125 CNC Gearless Gear Shaper gear electronic guide, cutting right hand and left hand helices during scheduled demonstration. The B&K Fellows MS450-125 CNC Gearless Gear Shaper is a 6 axis CNC mechanical stroking gear shaper with direct spindle drives, electronic high accuracy indexing, CNC linear servo backoff for crown and taper, elevating cutter spindle slide, and electronic helix setting. It is designed for shaping internal ad external gears, and comes standard with a Fanuc 30iB CNC control system, touch screen, hydrostatic spur guide and function controls and key pads for online direct entry of gear shaping data.
