HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL., January 22, 2014— Chris Cella has been promoted to Product Manager for Solid Carbide Round Tooling and Gundrill products for Star SU LLC.

Mr. Cella joined Star SU in 2013 to bring additional depth to our application engineering department.  Cella’s experience will be a welcome component of the growth strategies for our Solid Carbide Round Tooling and Gundrill products.  Additionally, his extensive background in manufacturing, sales and as a customer, will be an asset to Star SU’s manufacturing sites, Regional Sales Managers and, ultimately our customers.  

Mr. Cella, 46, brings two decades of experience in the fields of round tools, gundrills, and gundrilling to his new position.  In the decade prior to coming Star SU, he provided tool reconditioning services, continuous improvement programs and troubleshooting support in the aerospace, automotive, heavy truck, hydraulic, power generation, and transportation industries.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
